Sleep

Is anyone just not sleeping throughout this whole pregnancy!? My sleep is getting worse and worse but I’m functioning with it working full time as it’s become the norm. I’m waking every hour, just wide awake. Then by 4am I can’t drop off to sleep anymore !? Please tell me when baby is here even though you wake up for feeds etc that you atleast can sleep when it’s time to sleep and the baby is asleep at night!? Will my insomnia go after birth 🫠 never suffered with sleep issues!

Er sorry to break it but you will be wide awake in the night at times with the newborn. I found podcasts helped. 🤣 It did feel different to me than the insomnia I had in pregnancy though as I felt much more alert and awake while pregnant. Something weird happens though and you manage to function with very little sleep. I found an afternoon snooze helped early on.

The little sleep you'll get when baby is here is far better quality sleep than while pregnant. Your body is constantly busy right now, even while you sleep. Honestly, that first sleep not pregnant felt unreal🤣

I’m struggling to sleep at the moment. I’ll have a full nights sleep maybe once a fortnight when I’m really past tired. I went to see the consultant for a growth scan the other day and they asked how much sleep I’m getting and I laughed and said I wake up every night it’s become normal to me, I’ve tried meditation, warm shower, being curled up for a while before sleep, massage anything I don’t usually drink cups of tea or anything like past 8 ish anyway and I’m already on solid decaf. So she asked if I was stressed so gave her a list of things that going on to appointments ect so she recommended my hours cutting at work. Which I feel would help a bit but now I’m worried about maternity leave ect and not getting paid my normal contract.
