Growth Scan

This is my second baby and I’ve had additional fetal monitoring due to some complications. Today at my growth scan she measured 5 pounds 10 ounces and in the 14th percentile. My first baby I didn’t have an ultrasound after my anatomy scan so I have nothing to compare these scans to. I asked my obgyn if she was concerned for iugr and she said no.. My obgyn didn’t seem worried at all just said she’s not too big not too small. But now I’m spiraling… My son weighed 7 pounds 6.9 ounces at birth but again I have nothing to compare these scans so I’m worried.

How far along are you?

Just remember the percentiles are out of 100 babies around that gestation. My twins are in the 41st and 39th percentile. One twin is 5lbs 4oz and the other twin is 5lbs. My daughter was in the 99th percentile for weight. But these numbers aren’t actually they are all just an estimate. If they were worried about her size you would definitely know🩷

Hi, I’m in the same situation and also spiraled - it’s natural to worry. It helped me to hear from other moms that the scans aren’t that accurate and baby is still expected to put on 1/2 lb per week until your EDD. What matters is that you’re both healthy, the Dr is not worried and that even if they were born now they would still likely be completely fine! 💙
