Not napping

My almost 3 month old is not napping through out the day. He’ll fall asleep for 5-10 minutes top & he’ll get fussy & I can tell he’s sleepy. I’m a first time mom so I’m not sure if this is typical? I’ll take any tips to help him nap!

I think this age is where I started to look into wake windows and appropriate sleep schedules. As a ftm too I kinda just went with the flow those first few weeks but then when sleep started being an issue I began looking into it more.. we all needed better sleep lol and it did help us alot.. around then too was when I started doing at least one nap in the crib a day to get her used to it but at this age it was still very unpredictable.. incorporated contact naps too but naps did improve with age. I say look into wake window schedules for a 3 month old that may help.

my 6 week old did that for like a week. she was fighting sleep and got overly cranky. i put her on my chest and played calming music and she eventually would go to sleep after a couple hours. it’s normal. sleep regression.

Ooh girl. That’s a sleep regression. It’s so hard but he’ll get through it in a couple weeks-a month or so. Make sure you have a super structured schedule. Mine had a “witching hour” from like 4-8 every night. Try going outside, taking a shower together, white noise in a dark/dim room. But whatever you do, don’t overfeed. That’ll make it worse. Then he’ll be pissed cause he’s sleepy and in pain

my baby also went through a sleep regression at 3 months. it lasted a couple weeks and she wouldn’t sleep what so ever during the day. we’re 4 months now and she’s over it and back to napping. it will pass mama. the only thing really to do is try to stick to a routine.

Same my baby boy is around the same age and he is def going through a sleep regression rn. Contact naps help n sometimes if he wakes up after a short period we just play with him a bit let him be up n then try to nap him again. We did start giving him an oz more and it's helped him fall asleep and stay asleep especially after a long wake window where he was being really fussy and not napping. But sometimes it doesn't but eventually he'll grow out of it. You're not alone you got this mama!

Thank you all!!! Glad to know this is normal, & I’ll definitely try y’all’s suggestions!! 😊
