Help! Toddler started banging his head on things
Recently if I’m in the kitchen cooking or doing something where I can pick him up right away, he will bang his head back onto the cabinets or oven handle. I put my hand back to stop him and usually pick him up right away. I’m trying to stop him from doing it and not pick him up immediately so he doesn’t think he needs to do that in order to be be picked up.
What can I do?

@Camille he has done it at night in his crib for a while as a soothing thing but this is new
my kiddo does this in the high chair. ped told me it’s a way of self soothing!
@Marissa ugh and yes it’s fine in his crib to soothe but I don’t like him doing it just bc he wants to be held. I try to deter him away from it afraid he’ll hurt himself
i completely understand mamas! it’s so hard
