Liverpool Woman’s or Ormskirk

Hi ladies, I’m currently 6w2d with my rainbow baby! When I miscarried I was with Liverpool women’s. The first scan (when I was told there was not heart beat) was and awful experience, the woman who was scanning me was a dreadful woman and the woman who was sitting behind her stood up (seconds after I had just been told the heartbeat was no longer there and was crying my eyes out).. she stood up and word for word said ‘I’m going home now, see you all later’ there was no sympathy or empathy, or bedside manner at all!! Me and my partner just sort of got shooed out! The second scan to make sure that there was ‘nothing left’ after a week or so, we were greeted by two wonderful woman who we’re appalled at both woman’s behaviours at the first scan and they said ‘unfortunately it wasn’t the first time it had happened’ with those particular women. They were the kindest people and were just so lovely, complete contrast from the two previous ladies. But I suppose I can’t shake the feeling of the first time! I suppose I just want to know what are people’s opinions on either of these hospitals. I have never dealt with Ormskirk hospital, but I’m told it’s smaller, have more staff because it isn’t such a large hospital and they have the time to spend with mums and babies! TYIA!x

I’m so sorry for your loss, wishing you an abundance of positivity and happiness with your rainbow 🌈 Ormskirk! We were pregnant last year with an Anencephaly baby so were referred to the women’s but chose Ormskirk because Liverpool made us wait hours not knowing what condition our baby had or how life threatening. Ormskirk were amazing, all the staff were so supportive and helpful and went that extra mile for us at every appointment, and even though it’s been 3 months my midwife’s still checking up on us It really does make the difference when you have a team that cares xx

Thank you so much Zo!🥰💖 Wow, that is shocking!! I’m so glad you and your little family were looked after eventually, not that you should’ve been offered anything other than support!! It absolutely makes all the difference when you have a good team around you! I hope you are all well, sending all my love!☀️🩷

I am so so so sorry this happened to you, and congratulations on your rainbow baby 🌈 ❤️ I was with the Women’s, and I am definitely going with them next time too. I’ve heard people have bad experiences with both hospitals, personally I couldn’t fault the women’s. I ended up nearly dying in labour and they saved my life. You go with your gut lovely, whatever you think is right, I’m praying that this pregnancy is happy and healthy ❤️🌈

Thank you so much Grace! You’re a star!⭐️💖🥰 I hope you and your little family are doing well now!?🩷 That’s what everyone keeps telling me, to go with my gut! Thank you for you kind words!🌈✨🩷

I had my little boy in Ormskirk 3 years ago which was a really good experience, I had a miscarriage in Ormskirk in January and the staff were amazing, really attentive, empathetic, called to check how I was doing etc x

Thank you for sharing that Chlo! So glad to hear they were attentive! I hope you’re doing as well as you can, just make sure to look after yourself. Sending you all my love!✨🩷

I was under the Womens as I’d had 3 miscarriages previously, had all appointments with them and I had the same midwife for all appointments, gave birth in Whiston as the ambulance didn’t think we’d make the Womens 😂 I didn’t have any issues with the Womens can’t comment on the other hospital as I e not used them. Hope you find the right one for you 🫶🏼

I am under ormskirk, due my first baby in 7 weeks and I have underlying health conditions and have had surgeries in my past and they have made my pregnancy feel so much at ease, they see me more regularly, always take the time and don’t rush u at all. My sister was under the women’s and was having an awful experience and then moved to ormskirk and she had brilliant midwives when having my nieces. A lot of people have different experiences tho with hospitals but from having health conditions and the worry of being high risk ormskirk have been amazing to me. Xxx also so sorry to hear about the miscarriage, so happy for u now tho and hope all goes well for u ❤️
