Bedtime

I’ve worked really hard to get my little one into a routine. I was wondering how many of you will stray from routine e.g. go out for tea and keep your little one up past bed time for a special occasion or is bedtime sacred?

I don’t have any sort of routine at all 😭 but I don’t like to delay her bedtime because she gets so sleepy, though I would for a special occasion

I have no routine that I've enforced - only by her queues, where she usually is ready for sleep by 7pm. My girl is good at sleeping through noise/social stuff so I'd put her in her pjs and get her to sleep in her pram for a super special occasion. X

We’ve got a pretty good routine but we do stray if there is something happening like tonight it’s my nieces birthday dinner so we’re out and it’s going to push back bedtime but it’s fine, id rather be there for these special occasions and let her enjoy it too especially as I know it won’t impact her tomorrow. I think it’s important for life to continue and not be tied to the house/clock all the time but I do understand how it can be quite disruptive and therefore cause some anxiety

We have no times on when we do something but he knows that when he’s had a bath or a wash down it is time to sleep. It depends how tired he is/ how long he slept on his last nap really. I just base it on him. Even when we’re out we base it all on him and what he needs

I think this completely depends on your baby. I know my sister took my nephew to anything because he was very chill. My little man however would not be so chill if I kept him up past his bed time even though his bed time is not set in stone. He goes to bed around 3.75 hours after his last nap. So for us, if we have an occasion i tend to try get a power nap in in the morning first thing to give us an extra couple of hours on the day!
