I am going to bury mine in the garden and have a tree picked out 😅🥰. I have no interest in ingesting it.
I encapsulated twice. But only could take the capsules of one kiddo.
Saved it in the freezer to plant under a tree in the yard. Only now I can’t find it 😬
I felt weird just throwing it out but had no interest in consuming it so I donated mine! Donated birth tissue is used to help trauma and burn victims, and as an operating room nurse at a level 1 trauma center it felt like the perfect way to honor my placenta for giving my baby life. 🫶🏻
We are planning to bring it home to plant it under a new tree!
I didn’t even wanna look at mine 🤣 I had gestational diabetes and I’m like. Nope take it. lol
Also in the freezer waiting to be buried under a tree 😊
@Jessica you can’t find it in the freezer? 😅 why am I imagining an accidental nutrient rich pie has been dished up 😂
My mom is a crunchy midwife and she does placenta encapsulation which is basically turning it into a powder and making pills out of it. It sounds gross but it’s really nutritious and great for postpartum health. Might do that.
The hospital took that shiiiiit straight away. Get it away from me 🤣🤣🤣
@Chloe i found it to be beneficial for the post partum period that I could take them.
I asked the midwives if I could get a look at mine
I kept mine but have no idea what I want to do with it. All I know is I didn’t want the hospital taking it.
I donated mine! So hospital took it, but it wasn’t “nothing” that was done with it

Saved it and planted outside
I was very high on gas and air and asked my partner if he wanted to eat it when the midwife asked what we would like to do with it. She found it hilarious because he just looked at me in horror whilst I was laughing
Nothing with my first, but my twins were part of a research study on how and why premature birth affects the developing brain, so their placentas were used to provide samples for that research
I donated mine
I had pills made with my son by my midwife and with my twins I just couldn’t be bothered 🫠not sure what they did with it
I had both binned in the medical waste in theatre. Zero interest in keeping them.
@Jessica how big is your freezer? 😳
I had mine encapsulated! Do itttt. 🙏🏼
I got mine encapsulated! I feel like it really helped me with postpartum depression and regaining myself after the baby came. I definitely plan to splurge next time I have a baby and encapsulate my placenta again!
Had it freeze dried and encapsulated and took the capsules. I was worried about ppd and my grandmother was a midwife i remembered her talking about some women consuming the placenta. I didn’t have other plans like ceremony or anything for it. there’s a lot of debate about whether it actually does anything but I think it helped me 🤷♀️
Nothing, the hospital disposed of it. I don’t believe there are any benefits to consuming it, animals just do it so predators don’t sniff their defenceless babies out.
