What do you do if you have plans that clash with your babies nap?

My partner thinks I’m too rigid with naps so I’m wondering what others do when making plans

I plan around nap times. There's no way I'm throwing the next 3 days' sleep off schedule 🙈

Depends how important the plans are. I’m lucky in that even if she has a terrible/short/different time nap she’ll still sleep overnight unless she’s ill, so if it’s something we can’t do another time then I’ll make it work with either an early or late shorter nap.

My toddler started to sleep in the pram at nap time for an hr (max) which I think is fine now and again. Also he falls asleep in the car seat in the way home if I over run our morning outing. However he transfers to the bed absolutely no problem. I very much think it’s good for them to nap at home in their bed and until very recently planned everything around naps. Like I said, a nap on the go now and again is fine if you’re out the whole day for an event or something but generally I’d get home for the nap. It really depends on your child’s temperament as well, they may be low sleep needs and a 30 min pram nap will do then just fine. Others may really need a nice long 2 hr nap in bed or they are tantruming the rest of the day! Men usually think these things because they don’t parent most of the time and don’t really understand the concept of routine for a child and how important it is

Depends on plans.... But she often naps in car or carrier, so can always work around it

I've never been rigid with naps from day one both my kids sleep when they sleep including on days out. We took our eldest out for his first birthday to the zoo he napped through the afternoon on and off due to the excitement and it worked for us. The only thing we don't do is go out to eat if it clashes with bedtime as little man is firm on his bedtime and if you take him up even a few mins after 7 he lets you know you've made the mistake of keeping him up past bedtime 😂😂

We’ve found if my little one misses her nap she’s so miserable. I’m flexible with times as seem to find it doesn’t effect her bedtime. But she needs her sleep!
