Ovulation help

This is my first time doing ovulation tests.. it said I was due to ovulate on Monday and Saturday - Sunday were my peak fertility days. However, after testing this morning, my peak has arrived early and is today and tomorrow, with ovulation happening on Friday. Talk about no notice 😂 is this normal!? I’m going to test again later in the evening to see how it is and if I’m am still peak.

Hiya, how long are you cycles usually?

@DS hey, they’re usually 5 days, sometimes a day with spotting. My period this month I thought was implantation bleeding as I had very little to no flow at all but I believe it was just a period. I was more or less finished by day 3-4. So confusing!!

Your cycle length is how long between the first day of your period and the first day of your next period. For example mine are 27 days long

@DS so sorry, mine is around 26 days

Hello! What app is this you are using? It's my first month TTC so new to all this. Thanks!

No need to be sorry, this is all very confusing. First thing is that everyone’s cycle is different so when you use a new app it can take a few months to be accurate. In a ‘typical’ 28 day cycle a woman has her period on cycle day 1 and she ovulates on day 14. The days before ovulation are called the follicular phase and the days after are called your luteal phase. If you have a 26 day cycle ovulating on day 11 or 12 like it’s suggesting here would not be uncommon because that means you have a 14 or 15 day luteal phase.

@Grace hey Grace, I’m still getting my head around it too - getting there, I think! This is the premom app. I also bought some ovulation strips to help with TTC xx

The reason why I am going in to so much detail (and sorry about this!!) is because one crucial thing to know is that generally your luteal phase (after ovulation) is fixed. For example I have a 13 day luteal phase, I usually ovulate on days 12,13&14. Because my luteal phase is 13 days this means that my cycles can be 25,26 &27 days in length. Ovulation days can move around which is why it’s helpful to test, and in this case you have ovulated earlier than the app estimated. You won’t know how long your luteal phase is until your period arrives, but hopefully this is your month and it won’t. Best of luck 🤞

@Grace looks like she is using Premom

@DS thank you so much! I did read another post on here, where they have been using pregnacare for fertility and have ovulated early. This is the exact same boat I’m in! So I think it might be due to that. Hoping this is the month, fingers crossed. Thank you so much for taking your time out to go into detail, really appreciate it 💕

Oh yes I have heard pregnacare can make people ovulate a bit earlier, it should balance out if you keep with it!
