He did it once, I told him ouch and pretended to cry a little and he’s never done it since xx

Yeah my little boy seems to loads better then it starts again, I find he’s worse on a Monday at a toddler group if he’s had a busy weekend and worse on a Friday if he’s tired from nursery during the week. I try to explain his teeth are for food, I’ve found biscuits in the food item that’s stuck 😂 so before we go somewhere I say remember we don’t bite, we only bite biscuits but ultimately I try to shadow him as much as possible to try and stop it before it happens as feel if I can break the habit it will stop sooner. I try not to bring too much attention to it, if he bites me, just say a firm no and then I walk away. It’s just a phase and most kids have something we don’t want them to do like pushing etc x

We have a ‘chewy’ if he bites I say “oh no biting mummy doesn’t want to be bitten, shall we find chewy’ and give him it. I tried the ‘no’ and ‘ouch’ but it didn’t work he just laughed and did it again. He does it when he’s tired and overstimulated mostly and more so when he is poorly. It’s a sensory thing for him x

Mine did that when he was around 13 months, I completely ignored it as he was doing it to get some reaction and he hasn't done it since at home. He bit someone at the nursery when he was around 21 months, and as he was older I just tried to explain to him why he shouldn't be doing it and thankfully he never attempted it again, not sure if the conversation actually worked, but I tend to just explain to him everything and talk to him about it.
