Holiday to Spain

So we’re going on our first holiday abroad as a family in July and little one will be 11 months. We only have 2 x 20 kg luggage and I’ve heard most people do a collection order at boots in the airport for nappies and formula. However we use Aldi’d Mamia formula and I’m wondering if I should change him onto a different formula before we go, pack formula in our suitcase, or risk Aldi in Spain stocking it? There is a store only 10 minutes from our villa. Or does anyone know if Aldi in Spain stock formula? 🫠 Also any travel tips are hugely welcome 🙏😂

We pack formula cartoon into our car seat which we then have in a large bag and we check for free noone has ever checked it. I even put nappy pack in there

@Maliha I’ve seen this on TikTok 😂I’m flying with Ryanair and I just know they’re going to check it 🫠🥲

You are allowed on ryan air a baby bag so you could potentially pack formula into there. You could also perhaps pack some packets of wipes and dozen or so nappies

@Maliha nappies and wipes I’ll be taking enough for the travel day and buy more when we get there. Our flight gets in at 1pm so will have plenty of time to get from their airport and go shopping 😊 Probably worth mentioning that we are going for 10 days so I would need to take two tins and f formula.

I remember buying formula in Spain but I think they have different brands, but I didn't go to Aldi, also it's good to bring a back up milk. We ran out of milk in Spain and didn't realise on Sundays they closed main the stores, so we had a friend out there that had to drive us to a 24hour pharmacy and I paid Luke 17 euro for a Spanish brand milk but it was actually quite nicer for the baby.

Aldi mamia formula is a similar make up to aptamil. In the grand scheme of things though 2 tins only amounts to around a kilo and a half of luggage weight so I would just pack it.

We went to Gran Canaria with Ryanair, you get an extra baby bag for your hand luggage and you can take formula either ready made or powdered and food etc, nappies, wipes, nappy cream. It's not subject to the usual rules about liquids etc - they will check it at security but it's all allowed. You're also allowed to take a pushchair and a car seat if you wish, they don't charge anything extra for any of the baby stuff. Personally I'd pack it and take it with you rather than risk them not having the right one once you're over there 😊 2 20kg hold luggage plus your hand luggage and baby bag gives you plenty of space and weight for everything 😊

We always just buy formula, nappies, wipes etc when we get to the destination. Way easier and avoids tub explosions in the suitcase 😂
