Insomnia

Does anyone else absolutely dread bed time at the moment? I cannot sleep, cannot get comfortable and I’m up constantly for a wee. Anyone found anything that helps at all?

i have the same issue... i go to bed and sleep for about n hour and then im up for ages... i have found having a decaf tea n some cookies helps me half way thou the night. but wud love to know wot a fall night sleep is as well.. i feel ur pain x

@Stephanie ah it’s awful isn’t it!!! I feel so itchy and my legs get so restless, even though i know it’s all in my head 😭

@Tabby totally i feel ur pain i really do... when i went to the midwifes at 32 weeks she asked how i was soo i told her and she told me to take early mat leave... and thats all because ov my non sleeping and because ov the shifts i worked! people have told me to try different stuff and it works for one or to nights then stops. scared to laynon my back and on my right side... and im now getting fed up laying on my left side.. the only place i can get comfy n sleep is my sofa lol xx

Likewise! I’ve actually just moved downstairs to try and get some rest. I’m meant to be working up until I’m nearly 38 weeks (I work from home so not too bad) but I dunno if I can manage it!!

I’m 35weeks 3 days, my nights are basically my days atp, having a daytime nap helps me get my sleep but sleep at nighttime just doesn’t exist anymore I can’t lie on the right cause it triggers acid reflux, the back isn’t recommended and I’m not a back sleeper and on the left my arm goes so dead, idk what it means to be comfy anymore 😂

@Eli i feel ur pain... i was told by my midwife not to sleep my right side because ov a main vein in ur body🤔 x

@Eli I survive off Rennies at the moment 😭😭 I might have to start doing that because by 2pm I am done in

@Stephanie according to one study sleeping on the left is better than sleeping on the right buuut sleeping on the right is still a thousand times better than sleeping on your back, I’ve always been told as long as it’s a side it’s okay, it’s the laying on your back where the weight of the baby crushes the vein that cuts off the circulation. In my first pregnancy I was under fetal medicine and they had me lying on my back to scan me for half an hour once a week and i’d start to get really sick and dizzy every time and they’d always quickly roll me onto my side so you really do feel when it’s happening! - i’m also in the acid reflux gang currently awake and miserable with it!

@Tabby Rennies are the only thing getting me through this last trimester , I don’t wish for a preemie baby I want him healthy but I want him outtttt 😂

Yep I’m really struggling, can’t get comfortable, have to get up many times to wee, pelvic girdle pain …

Not sleeping is the worst and I feel for you. I am suffering so badly at the moment! I have carpel tunnel so bad my forearm and hands are on fire and itch severely all night. I’ve also started getting sleep apnea, and my throat just keeps closing and I wake up choking for air. Giving me horrendous insomnia and anxiety. I have 8 weeks left, of course every time I toss and turn I go for a wee! I actually downloaded this app at 3am last night in tears because I wanted to talk to other mamas that are struggling with sleep. I love being pregnant, I’m having lots of tough symptoms with this baby it’s making it hard and I’m worrying about how long I’ve got left. If you’re ever struggling to sleep you can message me!

@Naomi oh my gosh the sleep apnea sounds terrifying! Bet you are wishing every second away. I will absolutely message you - and likewise. Feel free to message any time, chances are I’ll be awake 😂

@Kate I have the same thought every night as I waddle for a wee ‘Deja vu, here we go again’

@Eli Rennies are life right now 😂😂 I’m also weirdly craving anything minty so they’re a double win. Curing the heartburn and satisfying the craving
