Also, treat your PPD as that can lower milk supply
And make sure you stay hydrated! Not only plain water, coconut water, Himalayan or sea salt in your water, or one of those electrolyte supplements (try to avoid the coloring agents). Don’t give up!!! ❤️❤️❤️
A week of lower supply doesn’t mean your pumping journey is over (unless you want it to be, of course). Eating enough protein and staying hydrated, and sleeping when you can will help boost your supply, as long as you’re staying on top of your pumping schedule (pumping every 2-3 hours for the first couple months).
@Meg its just feels hard to do while im also caring for a toddler. But I will do my best to get back to regular pumping
If your not against tv time for your toddler. I let my toddler pick a movie / show to watch with me while I pump. She loves getting her special tv time and it lowered my stress of trying to pump and take care of a toddler while my baby is in the bassinett not able to see the tv.
I totally understand - chasing a toddler on top of pumping is so tough!! Maybe a short hand pumping session (I always found I was able to get a decent volume out with my hand pump in a short time compared to my spectra) could help during the times when you’re also watching your toddler? And then do longer pump sessions at night/when toddler is asleep? It’s more about frequency of removal than sheer volume, so even just a 5-10 minute pump could help your boobs get back on the program!!
I think there's a lot of comments on here saying absolutely stick to it, which is great and if you want to then you absolutely should. However, there is absolutely nothing wrong with switching to formula if you feel that would be best for you as well!
No it's not over. Just get back to your pumping schedule and the milk will be back to regular within 2 weeks.
