Would really recommend investing in the c section correction recovery kit, or if it's too pricey then to get a good scar cream and watch tutorials for scar massage (once it's starting to heal up)
I have my C-section tomorrow so I’ll let u know after it xx
Had my c section 8 days ago and the first days definitely remember those pain meds! Nothing worse than being in pain and having to look after little one
Thankyou all, do you think it’s worth buying something to help me out of bed? I’ve seen the ladder things or the handrails you can put under the mattress but I don’t know if it’s overkill or will be helpful? X
Had my second section 4 days ago (first was emergency, second was elective). I’d just say: - big knickers (high waisted, a few sizes up so they don’t irritate the wound) - maternity pads if you don’t have them already - nursing pillow (I’m not nursing but it’s helped just for holding the weight of baby off my wound when feeding - not needed as much this time however!) - stock up on paracetamol and ibuprofen With an elective section, as long as you are focusing on recovery and have someone that can help you, you will be surprised how quickly you recover! Just keep the things you need at a height where you don’t have to bend, ask for help when you need it (eg getting up off the sofa etc when you’re tender) and you’ll be grand! The recovery from my emergency was super tough, however this time round I feel great compared. I’ve seen you’ve asked about the hand rails for getting in and out of bed - in all honesty, I would’ve used one after my first section, however haven’t felt like…
I needed it this time round. The first day or two my husband helped me get out of bed, but now I’m fine (just obviously slower than normal and taking it easy!). Just take everything at a steady pace and don’t try to do too much too soon (even if you feel like you can). I’m still trying to remember how early into recovery I am and to take it easy as I feel much better than only 4 days in and don’t want to set myself back in the long run! X
Keep topped up on your paracetamol/ibuprofen on those 2 hour intervals! If everything goes well, it should be a nice recovery 😀
