C-section pre-op prep…

Hi mamas, I have my pre-op tomorrow and not really sure what to expect as my first birth was an emergency C-section with zero “prep” 🤣 Anyone shed some light on what’s covered / what to ask / how long it’ll likely be? Excited and nervous all in one xx

I had blood pressure, urine and MRSA swab and then a midwife talked me through the night before/morning of prep. I was given a body wash to use and tablets to take at certain times. She then talked me through what would likely happen on the day and answered any questions I had. For me I asked about music, removing my facial piercings and optimal cord clamping but she was really thorough in everything she covered. I then had to wait to see the anesthesiologist, do some paperwork and have bloods taken. It took about 2 hours all in all x

Pretty much similar to above, however I had to take a blood thinning injection night before. & my anaesthetist appointments on Tuesday before my pre op which is the week of my section. Didn’t see the anaesthetist the first time, think they forgot tbh. No one ever asked me to remove my nose ring, just not allowed lashes on, and no nails. Don’t think mine was more than 30 mins tbh, maybe an hour at most. I find longest wait is getting prescriptions from hospital pharmacy 🤣

Mine was on the phone and lasted about 15/20 minutes! They double checked any allergies, ran through the daily plan roughly. They mentioned removing jewellery and piercings as well as nail varnish. I had to collect an MRSA wash that I’m currently doing in the lead up to my c section to reduce the risk of me taking anything into hospital! It was pretty straight forward and she said meds will be taken the morning of (anti acid and anti sickness) x

Had my pre op today , she done my bloods weighed me done a urine sample , had t do a mrsa swab so basically done 2 swabs on my groins n 2 in my nostrils , measured my ankles for the socks they give u , went through the process the time to be at the hospital for so tomorrow am in the hospital for 11am first person is seen to at half 1 n there’s about 3 of use at the same time this is in my hospital anyways , went through the whole process of the visiting hours n gave me my tablets to take at 10pm tonight and then one at 6am I can’t eat after 6am n cant drink nothing after 11am and not to shave the bikini line but to get a shower day before or day of the procedure mine lasted about half n hour xx
