Do yall have a primary and secondary pump?

I exclusively pump and just saw a tik tok by a lactation consultant and she was saying everyone should have a spectra pump as their primary pump and then if they want they can have a hands free pump as a secondary pump for on the go. I didn’t know this “rule” and I’ve only ever used the Lansinoh hands free discreet duo pump for me and it’s seemed to work fine. Sometimes I still feel full but then I just pump for an extra 10 min when that happens so I don’t see the need for a spectra or another one, nor can I really afford it, but I wanted to see if anyone else is in the same boat or if I’ve been doing this whole pumping thing wrong.

I’ve been doing the same thing for the last 3 months. But I recently started giving him the boob too, pumping about 3 times a day only and my oversupply has disappeared. Dunno if it’s just my milk regulating.

I have been using the momcozy m5 wearable pump since day 1. I did recently receive a spectra 1 from my insurance, I haven't tried it yet, though 😅

I LOVE my spectra S1. I also have the lansinoh but I prefer my elvie stride double.

In my opinion, there’s no really wrong or right way to pumping. It’s whatever works best for you. This is my second time exclusively pumping and I have always used the spectra as my primary pump. I also am an overproducer so if I don’t empty I will get clogs and mastitis. That’s really the only worry to have when not using a hospital grade pump. Just make sure you empty and you’re not developing any pain.
