Night pumping

You see the way you can leave breast milk at room temp for 5 hours, does this mean if I pumped at 2am, I could use the same pump (without washing) again at 6am, then put that milk in fridge, wash and sterilise the pumps?

I've only seen leaving it out for 4 hours, but I'm not sure if it would start getting dried onto the pump. What I do is throw the pumps in the refrigerator and use them for a day or so without washing. The milk doesn't dry onto the pumps as fast.

In the UK, we have the rule of 6 - 6 hours at room temp, 6 days in the fridge and 6 months in the freezer. Technically you could but I think the milk would dry in the pump. It’s worth just checking your pump before using again x

Sometimes I’ll do this if I know it’s gonna be a couple of hours, but any longer than that I think the milk will get all sticky in the pump parts. You can just rinse them off and stick them in the fridge, rather than wash them between night uses. I know a few people do this! I wash and sterilise (or at least rinse and sterilise) each time as we have a UV steriliser and so it’s pretty easy to stick them in there and it dries them too. I know plenty of people only sterilise once a day though and just wash or rinse between uses
