Yer I am opting for an elective too, my midwife was really straight forward about it and was like yep okay if that’s what you want. My consultant was more in to trying to me out of it but I stuck to what I wanted and now I will be having a meeting at 36 weeks where they will give me my date 🙂
Yea I am purely going of the reason that I have never left my 15 month old with anyone but her dad so I would rather just get it over and done with so I can see my baby straight away! I would love another natural birth but think elective section is best option for me this time around x
@Courtney im in a similar situation but can't imagine anything worse than a C-section 😅 My hope is to labour for as long as I can at home, and be out of the hospital in a few hours. Once you've given birth your own children are allowed to visit all day. With a C-section id have to be in for 24-48 hours, you can still be sat in the hospital on the waiting list if emergencies come in and visiting hours are a lot shorter 6-9pm at my hospital
Yes I’m having another elective section. I don’t know why I feel like a VBAC has more complications then an elective does
My first was an emergency c section, and I think I’m swaying more towards an elective this time as I was in hospital for 5 days with my induction before he was born, whereas with the section I’d know when it will happen and hopefully only 2-3 days in so it helps with childcare. As I’ve already had a section my consultant is giving me the choice. But I’m not 100% yet
@Beth yeah I hope to go naturally too but I’m high risk so either have to have an induction or c section and the thought of having to stay away from my girl for potentially days is scaring me! I don’t really care if I have to stay in hospital after the section but in my mind at least my husband can go home with her x
Have you looked into hypnobirthing? Whatever birth decision you choose to make it helps so much with anxiety and is all about knowledge of all the procedures and can really help if you choose to have a c-section or a natural birth. It’s been an absolute game changer for me and has helped with my anxiety so much xx
