Birthday ideas

My son is 1 in may, and we’re trying to think of somewhere to take him for the day! Anyone got experience with taking a 1 year old to the zoo and is it worth it?? Any ideas of what we could do?

Depends on the zoo. Some stuff is too far to see well at the zoo. Blackpool is a good one for little ones if you’re in the North West. How about an aquarium?

We done an aquarium for 1 yr bday and he loved it all the lights and we took his walker as not as busy as a zoo he could toddle around.

For my sons first birthday we just had a party in the garden with our family and his friends from playgroup. We put mats on the grass with toys and a paddling pool for the babies and had a little buffet for everyone xx

We are going on holiday in April so going to the aquarium then, and we don’t really have a garden but we just wanted to do something the 3 of us

My sons first birthday we just had a buffet some ballons and the family over he loved it with all the excitement going on , he loved being centre of attention xx

Legoland in Windsor has lots to do. There’s a boat ride through fairytales which was awesome x

I’d say the zoo probably wouldn’t be worth it. Still a nice day out but I don’t think he’d appreciate the animals like an older child would. My son started enjoying the aquarium at around 2.5 years old and we went to a mini zoo last week 2.10 years old and he really wasn’t that interested. Was more interested in the mud and play park there ha!

@Tanita think every child is different. I’d say we’ve loved the zoo since just before 2. 🤷🏻‍♀️ We got an annual pass. First birthdays are harder. But honestly they won’t remember so just a nice day you’ll enjoy together. If you like animals then do that. Otherwise do something else xx

We have an annual pass to the zoo and while we love going there, she enjoys people watching more than the animals 😃. We went to a soft play with a dedicated under 3 and under 5 areas for her first birthday and she loved that.
