Hours code

We can get the free hours in the term after they turn 9 months which would be September now. My little one was born on the same day as yours and he is going to a child minder in 4 weeks time. I had a letter through to ring him as I started an application but didn’t finish it, and they explained to me that we can’t get the free hours yet but we can get the tax free childcare. I’ve already opened an account to do that so I’m sure you will be able to xx

@Hannah thankyou 😃 i know the hours wouldn't begin until September (unfortunately) 😩 but did they say when we can apply to get the code ready for the free hours or do you mean we can apply now for it? I just want to apply as soon as I can to make sure it's done and dusted xx

So unfortunate! Aaaah yes, I understand that it’s April 1st as you can apply for it the term before September which starts from April 1st xx

Are you sure about not getting the 15 hours until September As they will be 9 months before the summer term starts in June Easter is 20th April when kids are on holiday And then they go back for the summer term?

100%. I did the digging. My childminder said that this would be the case but i spoke to them on the phone to make sure and they confirmed this too. They turn 9 months May 7th, I even asked if they would be eligible at 36 weeks but nope, it’s month to month, They said we’d be eligible for tax free until September term xx

I better tell my sons nursery too as they said we get the funding from summer term Good to know though , thank you Just glad we get some help as with my first we only got the 22 hours when he hit 3 yrs so I guess getting the 22hrs from Sept is better than nothing! Will have to budget accordingly now urghhhh!!
