Thanks x @Louise
Was he breastfed before at all? My girl is born 15/10 also and is on teat 3 😳 When I’ve swapped them to the next she took a few to get use to it, just sit him upright and just tip it a tiny bit and hopefully he will get the hang of it xx
We’re currently transitioning from 2 to 3, having similar issues as yourself! Today I just took the feed a lot slower, giving him a couple breaks and he was much happier and drank so much more thankfully.
He was breast fed for the first 6 weeks but had tongue tie and allergies so it all went to pot. He's been on a bottle since birth as we combi fed, so I'm unsure why he can't manage. I tried him with a 2 tonight and he started off ok, then choked halfway through. He continued to drink it but the next bottle he choked at the very start and cried and wouldn't take any more. @Tia
@Beth I don’t know if this is abit controversial 🤣 but have you thought about getting a needle and sterilising it and just trying to make the teat 1 a tiny bit bigger? I thought about it between 2&3 as my girl was struggling at the beginning xx
@Tia no but it's a good idea! It was actually huckleberry that messaged me saying judging by the entries we'd been putting on, for his age if we haven't already then maybe up the teat! I was like omit why didn't I think of this. Even though if thought of it weeks back when he was being fussy and we bought the twos. I'll just have to keep going at it and try get him used to it. Seems like everything is a mammoth mission and doesn't go very smoothly 😆
@Beth everything is literally trial and error for sure, wish there was an easy guide on how to train babies 😂😂 my sister has a 10 month old and he’s just gone onto the 3 as Maia is 4 months and is already on it, every baby is different which is stressful haha. Hope the needle works or he manages the 2 soon 🤞🏼🤞🏼 xx
Which brand?
When we swapped for a few times we had to swap half way through the bottle. It was annoying but once she was fussy we would swap then and she’d drink more. Hope it helps x
