Start with one bottle of the formula a day, then 2, then so on - just make sure it’s like breast, bottle, breast whilst you’re introducing it in the first week so their tummies can get used to it. Just do a bit of research on which formula you think would be best for your baby - I just used Kendamil as it had the crown stamp but it really didn’t mix well with the water or agree with my baby! Good luck 😊

@Heidi perfect thankyou :) im just hoping he will take to it as at the moment he very much likes breast 😂 x

I know you know this, but breastfeeding is the best thing for babies, your sweet baby looks so happy and healthy and will continue to be, even with formula 🥰. I know breastfeeding is tough, both physically and mentally. Before going to formula I’m sure you’ve tried your best to make breastfeeding work - if you haven’t done so already, work with your health visitor, see if they can refer you to anyone who can help with any issues you’re having. Maybe you’ve considering pumping? If you don’t want to breastfeed directly, perhaps you could build a milk supply to freeze and keep giving your baby milk this way. If nothing works then the baby has a happy healthy mama and that is obviously the MOST important thing. Anything you do will be great regardless. I follow this insta account https://www.instagram.com/moomysmilk?igsh=dzlqYTU4dzA2ZnQy I hope this was encouraging. That is what I intended. Good luck ♥️

@Yash hi yes i know its best for baby, i was always going to combi feed so not completely switching to formula im planning on continuing breastfeeding as well. Ive considered pumping but my memory isnt the best so i keep forgetting to x

Personally I would leave it a few days between introducing each bottle or you could end up quite engorged as your supply gets used to it. When I introduced a formula bottle I expressed a bit for a few days, expressing less and less each day so eventually I was used to it. It reduces your risk of getting mastitis.

@Lauren very good point! I forgot to add I pumped with every bottle feed 😊
