I haven’t recently but I have in the past and toss them into the crockpot to shred!
I started using it for our meal prep and do a full bag in the crockpot. Once it’s shredded I add it to a bunch of different things it ends up saving a ton of time
Yup! We don’t buy fresh chicken anymore. It’s to expensive
@Tessa was planning on doing the same thing. Was gona grill it then chop it up for chicken quesadillas or wraps.
We don't but I don't have a good answer why 😅. We've just always bought fresh
The frozen wings and chicken I was buying had added sodium solution in it so I stopped…eventually I will be getting our meat from the local farm…I stopped shopping at Walmart and started getting my chicken from the farmers market…since then my health has improved
UK girl here, if fresh chicken is on sale in bulk I will buy it & freeze it as food is expensive at the moment here. Then I buy frozen bag chicken if I’m fancying something quick for tea (5pm meal) that includes chicken/any other meat 😊
@Danielle I was buying this brand but the added salt I couldn’t do anymore and the natural flavors I found out are not natural at all but a chemical cocktail to add flavor…it’s not really our fault but they are adding all these artificial ingredients and it’s affecting a lot of our health
@Danielle it’s cheaper because it’s mass produced and it’s a bait to get you to ingest the added sodium solution and chemicals…for those that can’t afford anything else is crazy because it’s like what do we eat then? Everything is so expensive
@Yasmina I want to look into buying my chicken from a farm too eventually
It tastes horrible. My mum never bought it and I decided to try it and I see why🙃🙃
Yeah. We get big chicken breast packs from Costco.
My mom bought it growing up, and I have once in a blue moon but we raise all of our own meat so I don't usually buy any meat at the store
We don’t just bc they add so much to it I feel like it’s not actually that much better of a deal … esp bc near us normal chicken from butcher is cheaper but even in other more expensive stores the solution they add adds weight … also (tho it’s not really relevant for us bc I’m not the one eating meat) I don’t buy most fillet fish ,only whole, for same reason (the additives give me migraines & make my psoriasis worse)

For those who don’t understand the difference: the frozen stuff is always dry. Not to brag but I’ve perfected cooking the juiciest chicken and the only way to achieve it is with fresh chicken. I grew up on the frozen stuff but I don’t buy it for myself. I’ve done the math and in my area the frozen costs just as much as the fresh. You’d probably save money buying at Costco though. But then again you’d save by buying the fresh stuff at Costco too.
@Carolyn Leme look at Sam’s club this weekend👀
@Carolyn chicken is $36 a pack at Costco for fresh. I can get a frozen bag with MORE total breasts for $15. And it’s very juicy 🤷🏼♀️
@Lesya additives are diabolical
@Danielle yes I heard the meat from a local farm taste so different in a good way…I’m trying to see what to cost is looking like for a month worth of dairy meat and eggs
No, I prefer to buy fresh raw chicken when I need it for a certain recipe
@SquishyMommy1 I’m happy that’s the situation for you! That’s why I specified in my area, because that’s not the case for where I live. Costco is an hour drive away for me and what I have locally I end up spending the same amount for frozen vs fresh, maybe at best I save $1. In my experience frozen always comes out dry, but I guess that’s not the same experience for everybody.
@Danielle the closest location is an hour away hun. I lose money making the trip for that.
@Yasmina my parents buy beef from a farm but I can’t do the beef because it tastes like the smell of a slaughter house I worked at n I can’t do it lol it grosses me out
@Carolyn really? I have 3 within a 20 min drive but I live in a big city
@Danielle oh no…we stopped eating ground beef after we got sick from it…now ground turkey has been a great replacement instead…I just want to buy bacon from the local farm because they feed the the right diet no garbage, and also don’t vaccinate their pigs, of course chicken eggs and milk…everything else I can get elsewhere
I do from Sam’s Club. We freeze our chicken anyway so we buy it already frozen it’s cheaper too
Never tried it but I probably did when I was a kid.
@Danielle living in a big city that’s normal. I used to live in a few big cities. But I’m in a small town now in AL so my options are limited :/ ppl are always telling me to checkout aldis or Sam’s club as if they’re everywhere 😅😂 it’s okay I make what I got work. I have 50 chickens I just use them for eggs and tic control though I typically don’t butcher them even though I could to save money.
@Danielle I do since it just me and my son I take what I need out and cook portion for that night since my son don’t like left overs

As someone who has worked in a chicken factory, I don't buy frozen chicken, I like to check the meat over first to make sure it's drained probably before buying, which you can't do with frozen
Yes, love it
My mom never bought it growing up so I never did either but I seen how cheap it is so I bought it n I feel like it works good. Idk y it’s cheaper tho. I’ve only had two bags of it. I normally boil it n shred it but I did cook it whole on the pan last nite n was good that way too
