Do you need to sterilize bottles if using breastmilk?? For how long?

In the UK it’s advised to do so until 12m. There’s a common myth that breastmilk is sterile - it is not.

Same rules apply for sterilizing bottles whether formula or breast milk is fed in them

I didn’t. Just hot soapy water. We are in Australia and this was recommended by the hospital 🤷🏼‍♀️

I sterilize everything regardless of formula or breast milk

When I started in the hospital, they said it wasn’t necessary. I never continued (but I bet I would have been sterilising everything if I had continued!)
