Ready made aptamil

I feel so guilty about not being able to breastfeed my LO, we tried so hard and trialled some many things, none of which worked. Then whilst we have been out and about we have been using the ready made aptamil bottles which I wasn’t a fan of using however my husband was keen to use this as opposed to taking formula with us everywhere! I feel so guilty about using the ready made ones! Are they bad??

I used aptamil for my baby prior to being discharged from hospital because I’m an under supplier, it’s stressful but please don’t work yourself up about it 🤍 I now combination feed because I can only produce drops of b/m but i keep telling myself it’s better than nothing The ready to use ones are a super great option for when you’re out but are pricier than just carrying a flask and premeasured formula Don’t feel guilty, I’m sure you’re doing amazing 🤍

There's nothing wrong with the ready-made ones. They have a slightly more laxative effect (apparently, but I've never noticed a difference, and my LG has those and the powdered versions). Other than that, they contain all the same ingredients (all first infant formula has to provide the same stuff). The only difference is the price as you pay for the convenience of ready made.

I've used both formula and ready made with my LO since transitioning from breast milk and honestly I've had no issues lo drinks it as usual and saves alot of stress when your out and about

You've nothing to feel guilty for! Fed is best. And the ready made bottles are just the same as powder, just more expensive per volume - you pay for convenience.

@Sophie echoing what Sophie said - Fed is Best. Nothing wrong with pre-made (apart from it being so expensive)! We had a pack of ready made when we went out and couldn’t be bothered to make our own pre-made. Your baby is not disadvantaged because it’s not getting breast milk. Please don’t feel guilty. You can’t tell toddlers apart from who was formula fed and which ones were breastfed. It’s all Ok xxxx

Are we sure that formula powder vs ready made at the same??

Here's what Hipp say about theirs, as an example. In a nutshell, there's not a significant difference in the nutrition, no. Anecdotally, some report easier digestion with ready made. Also ready made has a lower risk of infection. https://www.hipp.co.uk/pregnancy-baby-toddler-advice/parent-advice/parent-s-stories/difference-between-powder-vs-ready-to-feed/#:~:text=4.,must%20be%20sterilised%20and%20clean.

Both powdered and Ready to Feed formula provide the same nutrition for your baby. ALL formula milks have to meet very strict regulations. Xx

I use aptamil formula and carry 2 ready mades any where I go, I’ve never noticed a difference. Fed is best my love❤️

My five month old has been exclusively drinking Hipp’s ready to feed. He hated the powered version. I can’t say I’m mad at the convenience. He was born in the 2nd percentile due to restricted growth and he’s in the 75th now, happy & healthy. I hope that helps.
