VBAC Experiences

Hi all, I had a traumatic birth experience with my first born culminating in an emergency c-section. I didn't react very well to the anaesthetic and had a tricky recovery. I'm now pregnant with my second and hoping for a VBAC. I'd love to hear from people who have tried for a VBAC - what birth setting did you opt for? What was your experience?

I had my VBAC on the labour ward, I ended up having to be induced after being rushed in via ambulance for crazy blood pressure 🙈 I was planning on birthing on the labour ward regardless just because I haemorrhaged after my section so didn’t feel comfortable being anywhere else! If that wasn’t the case (and obviously if I didn’t need inducing) I’d have pushed for a birth centre! Loved my VBAC, it didn’t necessarily go to “plan” and I tore pretty badly but it was honestly fine, recovery was so so so much better for me x

@Jessica thank you I really appreciate you're message. I'm debating between labour ward and birth centre at the moment as I'm concerned about labour not progressing well on the labour ward

I had an emergency c section with my first and vbac with my 2nd it was fine, they did push induction on me though and it was a 9 year gap. And the birth setting well I didn’t get a choice I had to be in labour ward closely monitored because I was classed as high risk and I presume you would be too with having an emergency section x

@Sammi 💖 hiya thanks for your message. Could I ask why the induced please?

@Emily with my most recent I had a genuine reason but with my 2nd because I had placenta abruption with my first which led to c section they said they didn’t want to leave me too long Incase that happened again but it happened at 37 weeks and I was nearly 39 when induced they just like to push it on a lot of ppl x
