I had low BP throughout pregnancy. I had a spinal and my BP did not drop. After my csection, however, i felt very very out of it and my BP was pretty high for at least a day and a half
@Claire oh that’s good to know. I didn’t know they can also provide some meds to normalize BP. I’ll definitely ask my doctor about that. Thanks for sharing!
I had an iv placed before my spinal, so when my blood pressure dropped and I started to feel faint they just gave me fluids and what not. I was fine afterwards but I did stuffer an itchy throat, I just assumed it was dry air at the hospital
@Angie V yes they do! The anesthesiologist let me know before the procedure that some wacky things can happen with BP and I let him know my BP normally is a bit low and he said no problem, they have meds to increase or decrease as needed/indicated. The entire team has a whole arsenal of meds on deck depending on what’s happening
My blood pressure tends to run low and I had a spinal for my c section. As the spinal was taking effect, I could feel my BP dropping even more, but it’s monitored the whole time and they have meds to safely increase your blood pressure. The spinal definitely created lots of out of body feelings, but once the BP was normalized, I was good to go.
