Baby milk

Hiya folks. So I’m currently 24 weeks and I want to get everything ready as soon as possible for my son. I’m planning on buying the ready made formula in cartons/bottles to begin with so it’s easier when he’s first born but I’m not sure on the lifespan. How early do you think I should buy milk, I mean ready made not powder, because I don’t want to get it too early and it’s spoiled by the time he arrives?

Have a look at the best by date next time you're in a supermarket. They aren't refrigerated so I assume they have a fairly long shelf life but it will of course depend on how long they've been on the shelf in a shop as well! X

I’m sure they last quite a while, we have some leftover from when our first turned one that keeps til June /July I think. They have best before dates on

I’ve just bought some Kendamil ready to feed bottles for the hospital and I’m 24 weeks too, they don’t expire until October, hope this helps!

as long as the best before dates are far ahead in advance i’m sure you’ll be fine. we used the premade for the first couple of weeks with little one at night time and it was a god send

I really wouldn’t worry until nearer the time with things like this. Maybe when you’re like 34 weeks if you want to get things early. Also the readymade ones have been known to cause constipation so I’d maybe look into this first.

We bought some ready made formula for first few weeks last time but I would highly recommend a tommee tippee perfect prep machine, we picked ours up on facebook marketplace for great price several weeks in. But wish we had just had from start.
