Induction or vbac

Hello ladies. I'm hoping someone has had experience with induction or baby measuring big and can share ? I'm currently 38 weeks 5 days with baby 2. I had an emergency c section with my first due to double nuchal cord. Originally I had opted to try for a vbac and c section scheduled for 41 weeks if I went over. I had my 38/39 week ultrasound today and they said baby is measuring big in the 95th percentile around 9lbs. However i was told similarly for my first baby and she was only 7.4 lbs at birth, so idk if I believe it. My first has been in the 90th percentile for height since birth so I wouldn't be surprised if this baby is taller too. I was bummed this morning after hearing this but I don't believe it 100% because of the experience with ny first so I know there's margin of error. I know vbac won't be easy if it's a bigger baby but at the same time women have bigger babies vaginally as well so that doesn't necessarily mean I need to have a c section. I'm just so done being pregnant and I don't know what I want to do. There's so many factors to consider. My partner can't start his parental leave till 2nd week of march so the sooner I opt for a c section the more weeks I might have to spend at my mom's or alone. And I'm not crazy about c section recovery specially with a toddler. My doctor has been really nice, he's not pushing a section on me. he said I can stick to my plan to try for vbac till 41 weeks, schedule an induction or move my c section sooner. The induction would be with a Foley catheter or pitocin. Even if I take my chances with an induction I know it won't be instant, so I could be in labour for hours if not days and it could still end up in a c section which is worse than a planned one because I'll be tired by the end so idk....help 😅

I've always heard that they won't induce you if you had a previous c section because the contractions are stronger and there's more risk of uterine rupture. I would honestly go for an elective c section, but I've personally never been interested in trying a VBAC. I had an elective c section with my first because at 36 weeks he was measuring full term +2 days and his head was measuring 44 weeks, and I didn't want my birth story to be like my MILs ( my husbands big head almost killed her), and I had a great experience. Now I'm having twins and one was measuring a week ahead at 17 weeks so I'm definitely not trying a VBAC now.

@Cheyann yes we talked about different types of inductions with a previous c section and foley catheter (0 risk) and pitocin/oxytocin (risk doubles from 0.5% to 1%) are "safe" but prostaglandin is not recommended. I have a follow up appointment in a few days so I'll ask more questions. Just don't want to be induced if it'll result in a c section anyways but I guess there's no way of knowing ahead of time With your first did you find the measurements were accurate?

He was 10 lbs at birth at 39 weeks 4 days, so that ultrasound was pretty accurate since they gain about a pound every two weeks and he was measuring 8lbs 3oz at 36 weeks 2 days. His head has also been in the "greater than 99th percentile" since birth. However, the further along you are the less accurate the ultrasounds are. He was measuring 11lbs 9oz two days before my c section, so that one was way off.
