Birthday

You’re not failing him! He won’t know it’s his birthday and won’t remember it! We went just to play in the park with our boy on his birthday earlier in the week and saw some family. Don’t beat yourself up, please.

Everyone makes such a huge deal about turning one - yes, it is big but you don’t have to rent halls and buy bikes and crap. Just be with them, endless cuddles and all the attention and you made their day! They want you, not random stuff. Chin up, you got this!

If you have a park within walking distance and it’s not too cold I would go there. My LO loves it on the swings 🥰 If you have any crafts you could do something with them as well. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy at the end of the day your child only wants to spend time with you.

A special day with your little one is more than enough❤️ We kept it pretty low key for our little ones birthday too and it was lovely & wholesome❤️

First congrats! My LO is also one tomorrow and no you are not failing him. Take him to park, make him his fave meal or snack. We are having a small intimate party for my little boy but nothing major. Don't forget to take a moment for your first year if motherhood with him.

Aww don’t feel like you failed, you definitely haven’t. We have been in a financial difficulty since Christmas but luckily we put money back to do a party and her birthday. We just took my daughter to build a bear with our friend and her baby to get her birthday bear for £1 and had family over in the evening and done a cake and sang happy birthday. They really don’t even understand at this age at all, don’t stress your doing the best you can! X

I think there’s always this huge pressure to do something extravagant for babies first birthday, but really half of the time it’s just to show off in social media for most people. I’ve felt really guilty as we’re not doing anything massive yet everyone I know posts these big events online. Please don’t feel like you’ve failed him, they’re so young they won’t even remember this birthday and all he’ll want is to be with you 💕 that’ll make him happy enough. We’re just having family over and having a cake.
