Trying for a second baby

My baby is 9 weeks old and we are thinking of trying for our second baby… it may be very soon but it took us 15 years for our baby girl and we are “older”’ so thought we would try sooner rather than later- however I am breastfeeding and have heard that this can prevent falling pregnant. I’ve only had one period since giving birth - would it be best to do ovulation tests daily ? I don’t really know where to start. Anyone have any similar experiences of trying so soon?

I've never experienced this but get it on as much as possible you know what they say you're most fertile when you've just given birth so I'd go for it. But yeah also purchase a box of ovulation tests I think you can get a bulk of them on Amazon. Good luck Mama 🥰

It took me years to get pregnant and it only took me 2 months to get pregnant after my first baby (it ended up in mmc unfortunately) but then it only took me another 2 months after that x

Ask your doctor before you go trying again!!

I agree with Dory. There is generally an expectation that you wait at least 18 months from giving birth to starting another pregnancy. If you don't wait the risks to both yourself and the baby are considered higher. That said many women will tell you they didn't wait that long and both them and baby are fine
