Hysterical Crying

Baby has been in an absolute funk today. She’s 7 weeks and been up from 8/9am until now. A few 20 min snoozes here and there but she’s been so hysterical between. She’s been such a good easy baby up to now. I can’t figure out what’s wrong. I’m at a loss and struggling to settle. Everything is making her cry. In the cot, out the cot. Bottle, boob, holding, not holding, Me, my husband. Help 😢

I read a thing about ‘purple’ crying (it’s an acronym) as with everything with babies it’s a phase. Hope she settles soon ☺️

Can you take her to ER if this continues? Just to get her checked 🌸 Might be just colics? I hope your little one gets better soon.

We are 8.5 weeks and have had a day a bit like this today - he's okay if breastfeeding and will doze but won't stay asleep when I move, and will start crying again. The pram and car both only worked for a couple of minutes, and I got about 40 mins from the sling. Hoping it's a growth spurt, it's been tough!!

@Mariam she’s never had colic before though?

@Vicki I was wondering if a growth spurt. I just can’t cope not knowing what’s wrong and not being able to help.

Omg I had this the other day. I have such a chill baby and then just one day was non stop crying. I eventually ran her a nice warm bath because I know she loves the bath and she actually then expelled so much gas and was back to her chill self after. Never would have guessed that she needed to fart so badly 🙈🙈

We had similar but ours was timed moments of hysterics, it went on for 2 weeks, at first it seems to of been linked to reflux and was mainly due to a build up of gas/discomfort. The HV suggested creating a food diary (we’ve had a lot of issues with both reflux and loose stools) and I also use this for stool movements, sickness and for any medicines we’re giving- after the reflux started to subside we were able to identify that infacol wasn’t agreeing with him! Are you giving her anything like that? I’d also suggest trying her in the car, going for a walk or putting her in a baby carrier and seeing if that can settle her x

Stopped giving infacol a week or so ago as she hated the taste Literally never had any issue and then just yesterday. She didn’t want to even be in the pram and she normally loves it and naps for ages. Hoping it was just a one off bad day and she’s back to herself today. A few more hours to go still

My girl was the same yesterday 😫 hoping for a better day today

My little boy has been like this for a week. He gets very fussy and it's like witching hour, but it's not an hour it's a good 4-5 hours in the evening. Apparently it's a 6-8 week thing and it'll settle?
