Teething?

Hey, I'm a new mum, so please bare with me as this could be completely wrong and just my overthinking... My 2 month old has always been trying to mouth something within the past few days, clothing, his hands, arms, my hair, etc. He is also licking his tongue out... I was just wondering if this is sensory / developmental or if it could be teething? Myself and babies dad teethed at 3 months old so baby has family history of early teething.. Just want to help him as he seems quite niggly as well..

Could be both, my LG started like this at 6 weeks, I was told numerous times it was too early for teeth but by 3 and a half months she had 2 teeth 🥲 is bubba drooling a lot?

He's not drooling a lot, but he has started leaving patches on our clothes when mouthing or has a droll every now and then... Very new to his, and we have been told it is early as well!

@Naomi it does sound more sensory, keep an eye on his nappies, if it's teething he might get nappy rash, his poo can get really runny & have mucus in it. Red cheeks (although my LG rarely gets red cheeks with teething TBF) but he will suddenly get super fussy (this happened the week her teeth cut through, for us) My LG holds her mouth and the gum where it's hurting when she cries as well

It sounds really normal, everyone seems to put it down to teething but it is completely natural for babies to want to put everything in their mouths. They can feel more with their mouths than their hands. My girl started doing the same around that age and everyone said it was teething, she got her first 2 teeth at 6.5 months. She’s now 8 months and still puts EVERYTHING in her mouth and regularly eats my clothing 😂
