Weaning!

My baby will be 6 months on the 25th and will be starting solids soon. For any October mums who have already started your journey do you have any recommendations on utensils such as spoons, water cups etc that you would recommend. Thank you! ❤️

We've got the munchkin suction bowls - they're a really good size 😊 they also do spoons that are long so easy for them to hold 😊 love the Tommy tippee cups 😊

Birthday twins my son will also be 6 months on the 25th we’ve already started using the munchkin 360 cup as he doesn’t really like a bottle, I’d stay away from silicone plates for hot food as it makes the food taste weird after a while, we have tommee tippee and munchkin bowls if u want to stay away from plastic wheat grass cutlery is also a good option and catchall bins and aprons will be ur best friend xo

Another vote for doidy cup and tumtum (3 way trainer cup). Also love the Bibado double ended spoon/dipper as it is so easy for them to hold. Used all of these for my eldest.

Bibado bib and the double end spoon/dipper are great. Suction bowls/plates are quite essential I’d say! The little pans ear cups are good for grip and their little weaning spoons are great for tiny tastes on the go!

We’re not bothering with plates to start with. They just ended on the floor even with suction with our first. we’re just going to put food onto the tray and use bowls where absolutely necessary

I would say you should stay away from silicone as it holds on to taste and smell.

After trying some cheap supermarket spoons I found the tommee tippee easigrip ones. These have been a game changer, they are less spoony than others so baby is able to get all the food off them easily.

@Sandrine if you soak the silicone bowl/plate in boiling water for 15 minutes should get rid of any smells and tastes x

Another plus for the bibado bib. The bamboo bamboo set which comes with spoon, suction bowl and a plate has been working for us.

Asda are doing full packs of small reusable cutlery for 90p, works great for my 6 month old
