Teeth ?

Anyone know roughly how long to expect teething symptoms and how long it takes for a tooth to fully come through once it's started to cut? My little boys bottom two teeth started to cut through the gum on Monday. They've literally cut through by the tiniest amount (just enough to feel the sharpness and see a tiny tip of white). He had no symptoms when this first happened, but for the past few days he's really been suffering. Temperature, snotty nose, constant drooling, super fussy, crying/whining in his sleep. Currently nap trapped for the first time in 6 months!! (He hasn't contact napped since September as he's really not a cuddler😥) But this is how I know he's suffering because he just wants to sleep on me for comfort. He's had Calpol and teething gel too. I just feel a bit helpless. Poor baby💔

Following because my little girl cut her first tooth 2 weeks ago and it doesn't seem to be getting much bigger!

@Alice oh no😥 I naively thought it would be a few days-1 week for it to come the whole way through😭 I feel awful he's just thrashing around in bed whining he can't settle at all he's really not himself

@Caitlin I thought it would be quicker too but it seems to be going on forever! I don't know if that's normal or not

I usually find they suffer most just as it cuts through the gum and then they generally get better. It can take a while for the teeth to fully come out. My baby’s top teeth cut a couple of weeks ago but they’re still not really that visible. I would recommend using nurofen and anbesol liquid for teething though, they’re much more effective than anything else.

@Lauren I need to pick up some anbesol liquid. We're using the gel currently but it doesn't seem to do much. Heard a lot of good things on the liquid though

@Caitlin yeah I think all the gels just disappear too quickly but the liquid is instant relief, I’ve used it on myself before and it’s so good!!
