Potty training advice

Anything at all! We’re on accident no3 already and now she’s napping probably from exhaustion of all the chat of using the potty for peepees and letting us know if she needs a peepee or poopoo. But she isn’t letting us know so far, she’s just standing up and peeing everywhere. We don’t want to pressurise her at all and we tell her it’s okay and we go to the toilet after to wipe her down and remind her to use the potty. Will give it a few days without nappies, just pants, and see how it goes. But I’m just looking for any advice/reassurance 😅

Posted into the wrong group but will keep it here incase any August mummas already have a toddler that’s been potty trained 😅

Feel you! Trying my little boy today too, so far 1 wee accident, 1 wee on the potty and 1 poo/wee accident xxx

@Laura Louise aww how did he get on the rest of the day? We had way more accidents than success in the potty. Only one successful pee in the potty. She wasn’t even giving any signals she’d just go stand somewhere and psssss it was all over the floor 😅🙈 hopefully tomorrow is a better day round 2!

We had this when we started with our 2021 baby, honestly my opinion is if they have multiple accidents a day they may not be ready as my son wasn’t when we first started, we then went back to nappies and he actually took it off one day and said he wants to use big boy toilet so has been toilet trained for 1.5 years we still have the odd accident. Maybe try daytime training pants, they aren’t as strong as nappies but helps them if they have a poo accident or anything. X

I’ve not got any other kids but I work in a nursery - I’m by no means an expert but I’d say if the little one isn’t identifying they’ve had an accident or making any attempt to tell you they need the toilet they may not be ready yet. You could hang off, nappies back on and give it a month or two then try again. We normally look out for kids telling us they need changed, asking about the toilet, saying they’ve peed etc. Good luck! X

Thanks for all the advice! We persevered and day 2 of potty training went sooo much better! She asked for her nappy back on to do a poo (bless her) but she did a pee in her potty every time bar one time as she asked to use the big toilet instead and I had to hover her over it whilst she peed. I am soooo proud of my girl
