Im currently being told its a possible ectopic but nothing was seen on the scan, my hcg is in the 100s but jeeps falling and rising but not by much, i have been told of 3 options after my scan on Friday but im unsure of what to do as all have risks, 1. Expectant management 2. Surgery and possibly lose a tube or 3. Some chemotherapy injection where you cant try for 3 months after (it took me 3 years to get pregnant) so im reluctant to do that one but wanted other’s opinions on how they found things and what they chose x
I completely know how you feel but I've never had an ectopic I've had 3 chemicals and 5 missed miscarriges Im sorry x
Im so sorry for your losses how do you manage after so many?
Atm we haven't been trying but were restarting next month x
Hello, I would advise, don't worry or rush yet, let them identify where the embryo 1st is. Around 2 weeks ago, there was a concern that I had an ectopic. On the scan it was a PUL but my HCG kept rising. They stopped my IVF meds, as they didn't want to support a Ectopic with additional meds. I was so stressed. After a week, they saw an empty sac in my uterus - no yolk sac and no fetal pole. I am going back in tomorrow to see if the sac has any development in it.
When I was in your situation 2 weeks ago, I was going to opt for medical management 1st. My opinion would be for you to take the injection. I know 3 months may seem long, but actually your body and mind will need to heal from this trauma anyway. And leave surgery as an absolute final option. Because don't forget, your chances are halved if you lose a tube. Personally, I would rather wait 3months, instead of halving my chances of falling pregnant naturally. I'm sorry you've not had much input from other members and I hope you are able to make the best decision for you. Xx
Is expectant management something you would of considered? Ideally i dont want to put anything in my body if i dont have too and i know 3 months isnt that long but it took us 3 years to even get a positive pregnancy test and i just dont want to have to wait if i dont have to. Also do you always lose a tube with surgery or is it possible to have the surgery without losing a tube? I’ve heard the injection can have an effect on your fertility too x
