Nursery fees

I have asked the daycare nursery to confirm prices and times for my little boy so I know and can plan going back to work, they have said with 30hrs funded 2 days a week would be £187 a month and 3 days would be £477! Am I being really stupid or does £300 difference for 1 extra day seem like way to much??

If their fees are around £72 a day then that makes sense to me. The £300 difference is for 4 x extra days a month without any free hours.

Could it be they won’t spread it over the year? One I looked at didn’t and with the 15th they said 2 days would be 247pm they didn’t have their 30 hr info yet. Another one said it could be spread out so works about 21 hrs a week funded and I would just pay 9 per day food etc

Ours was like this. If your little one is going all year round, stretched funding you only get 22 hours a week funded. This would cover two days a week so you just pay consumables (187) but when they do three days you are paying full price for the extra day as well as the consumables. Ours goes two days a week and consumables are the same price £187 When she went three days it was £500

Funding is only about 2 days a week split across the year instead of just term time so makes perfect sense as you are paying full price for the extra third day

@Terri ahh this makes sense now thank you 👍

My little one goes 3 days a week and it £91 a week with stretched funding x

My nursery claims 10 hours per day so won’t be maximising the 30 hrs… this will cost 444 per month! I would say it’s reasonable. Do they include nappies and food too?
