Following on from the above comment, Id also add: What’s the ratios in each room(staff to child) What room will your child start in Ask how long staff have been working there ( high staff turnover is a red flag) How the children follow the eyfs curriculum how the staff challenge the children to meet their development milestones What they use to manage cleaning? How you’ll be informed about your child daily …do they use an app?
My main concerns were - how they get babies to sleep. Making sure they don’t support any form of sleep training. Making sure they could pat/rock/shush to sleep if needed. - making sure they had cctv in every room - ratios of staff to babies - whether they are term time only or year round - whether fees include food, nappies etc
Even ask something so silly as do they let them have dilute juice (incase your LO won’t drink water without it like mine)- as a nursery told my niece she was naughty because she wouldn’t drink water!! My daughters nursery are great and we supply our own and they give it her x
- what time they open / close - what is covered in the cost (are you expected to provide nappies or anynting else) - how much is the deposit - what is their availability / waiting list for a spot - the menu and what snacks they give - where, how and when baby will sleep You’ll probably just get a good or bad vibe about it, and then you’ll know if it’s for you or not x
