Poopy toddler

How do I get my non potty trained 19 month old to NOT poop in the tub? 😭 she won’t stop pooping in it every time! Luckily my fiancĂ© is a plumber so it doesn’t bother him to clean the tub after but it’s tedious when it’s right after she’s clean and then does it so we have to clean her again and then clean all the toys 😭 She’s scared of the shower head so showers are a no go

Do you think it might be bath temperature on her stomach like relaxing her? 🙂

@Fay it definitely is I keep her bath warm as she likes it that way we just hate having to clean it all after 😂 I’m seriously debating swim diapers for bath time lol

OH MY GOSH MY SONS DOING THE SAMEEEE THING!!!

I read that it might be time to start introducing the potty because they know if they go in the tub it won’t be sitting in there diapers

My mom told me that all 6 of us kids, as soon as our buttcheeks touched water we pooped. She would fill the sink with some water and touch down our butts in it, then wipe us and set us in the tub. OR she bought a cheap pasta strainer and would do the same thing with the strainer in a bowl of water. Easier clean up and you can just dump it all in the toilet easy-peasy

@Destinee interesting. She doesn’t really poop like she does in the bath and sometimes she won’t poop till bath time so maybe you’re right. My pediatrician said she was already showing signs of being ready but my anxiety is getting the best of me 😂

Do the swim diapers then. That’ll keep in the poop. Other option is to put her on potty before the bath.

the poopy baths are just a phase my son did that for months right around the same age and then eventually stopped. as for the shower head have u tried showering with her? my son was scared until i got in with him one time and showed him its not scary i picked him up we played with the shower head i let him spray me in the face and he was laughing so hard and ever since then if i have to rinse just him off in the shower i can he’s not scared of the shower at all now sometimes he actually even requests a shower lol

Ughhhh I think this may be a sign she’s ready for the potty

So our boy used to do this. We would do dinner, bath and the bed. What we found helps is planning dinner 15 min earlier than before. Give baby 15 min after dinner to do active play. This got our baby to poop out anything that’s pushing through his system and any last pee before final diaper.

Don't do the bath until she's pooped for the day

@Kellie swim diapers are designed more for keeping pee in then poop from my experience at least

I do bubble blowing around the shower time as it I'd very distracting before the water goes on and you could make a bucket with bubbles in it also so she sees the reward factor of the shower head maybe

@Rose no it’s not. Pee goes right through swim diapers. Otherwise the water/pee will hold down the baby in the pool from the extra weight. That’s why they say don’t put on a swim diaper in the carseat- any wee will go right through. Put a swim diaper on only when you get to place of swim. And using cloth in general keeps every dot of poop in- it has real elastics. Never had a blowout in cloth, not one.

My 9 weeks old son hate tub bath. He prefer a shower 🚿 or a sponge bath.
