Happy and terrified…

Hi all, just wanted to tell someone we had a positive pregnancy test last week! I’m 35 and this is my first pregnancy and I’m so happy and elated and terrified all at the same time. My mum had 6 miscarriages and I’m terrified that will happen. I’d love to meet this little bump in October. I’ve researched it, but I can’t see any tips to reduce miscarriage other than eating well and looking after yourself… anyone else feeling this way or am I a bit mad…?

Congratulations! I’m 33, first pregnancy as well. We’ve got Endometriosis in the family (I’m diagnosed as well), so I understand how you’re feeling. I’m also terrified. I’m trying my hardest not to stress and not google each individual symptom I’m feeling!

Congratulations! I've got an almost 3 year old, and I had a mc last year. It unfortunately is completely out of our control which is terrifying. However, someone told me to enjoy every day unless told different, so that's what I am trying to do. Yes there is a chance something can go wrong, but there's also a high chance it can all go great! Try to relax and stay positive 🩷

Hi Flo, congrats!! My mum had 4 children without a single complication any time. I have so far had a miscarriage & an ectopic pregnancy. So I wouldn’t stress about your mums experience, everyone is so different Equally I understand all too well how it feels to be completely terrified, I am too for obvious reasons! I agree wholeheartedly with the advice here, we unfortunately cannot control the outcome, im just trying to enjoy the time I do have with my little seed - hopefully they will stick around for the rest of my life this time! Stay distracted, do a lot of self care & relaxation and look after your body!

Congratulations. This would be my 5th pregnancy with only one earthside. Having a miscarriage is scary and unfortunately there’s not much you can do to prevent it it can happen just from a dodgy chromosome or anything. Hope this is a sticky baby for you 🤍
