@Katharine yeah I got my bloods redone abd my thyroid is under 2.5, she wants to repeat bloods in 2 weeks to double check that they have stayed where they should, I’m shocked that it came down that quick though
@Jade I hope it's a smooth and relatively short process for you! Once under control it really shouldn't take any longer for you to conceive than the average person. Luckily hypothyroidism is usually super manageable as long as you are reliable at taking medication.
@Katharine yeah I take it every morning, hopefully will be like April/may time 🫶🏽 xxx
I would talk to your doctor about this. It will depend a lot on what your thyroid levels are. It can take a few weeks for your levels to normalize when you have medication change. They probably asked you to repeat your blood work in 4 weeks. And may need to adjust again based on results. So it could take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months. I would wait to try to get pregnant until you know your levels are under control and make sure your doctor knows you are trying. Your thyroid production ramps up a lot during 1st trimester because it is supplying all the hormone needed for mom and baby. Then tapers back down to a normal baseline over the course of pregnancy as baby develops and starts to produce their own. It's really important for early heart and brain development to have your levels under control. Your doctor or endocrinologist should be the first person you inform of a pregnancy besides dad, because they will want to closely monitor your thyroid levels.
