We chose not to. He’s not going to hate you. My midwife told us when we made the decision that these days it really is pretty 50/50 as to whether or not parents choose to have it done, and he can always make that call for himself if he chooses to down the road. It’s a cosmetic procedure. If he wants to look a certain way, that’s fine. But your kid isn’t going to hate you for giving them the opportunity to chose that for themselves
I have a son as well who I didn’t circumcise I was being pressured to do so but I’m glad I didn’t. I don’t think he’ll hate you at all. Coming from a culture that for the most part most men aren’t circumcised they seem to be fine they don’t really even think about it at all. 🙂 Sometimes I worry about infections which is why people say to do it but my husband says you just have to make sure to teach him how to take care hygiene wise.
I choose not to for both my boys, it just seems barbaric.
@Sarah at least if you get it done as an adult, they give you pain meds anesthesia 🥲
Thanks so much
I don’t think he’ll hate you. I didn’t circumcise my son. It’s not my place to alter his body. And it’s still something they can choose to do as an adult. It’s genital mutilation.
