Christening Gifts

A family member is getting christened soon, he'll be 16 months (our little boy is 20 months so we're close with them, having little ones so close in age). Looking for ideas on a nice gift for this age? I'd like to avoid your typical engraved cups etc as I think they'll get a lot of those things. Thanks!
