When to start maternity leave?

My work is quite physical but my employers will be making adjustments as I get further into my pregnancy. It will still involve some time standing and light lifting, but not as much as usual. I’m due on the 7th October.. and reckon starting mat leave around the 36th week? When is everyone else planning to start? X

Do you have any holiday you could put in first? When I went on my first mat leave I did week 36-37 as holiday so technically my mat leave started from 38 weeks. X

With all my annual leave I’ll be finishing at 28weeks !! And mat leave starts 15th September, due 4th October . I finished last time at 30 weeks due to Covid and it’s just worked out well this time round with annual leave.

I’m due 2nd October and we’re hoping for me to take mat leave from the last weekend in August, so 34 weeks? My job isn’t physical but I commute an hour away 5 days a week and I think it’ll be a bit much by then x

Going til the end x

@Faith due on 2nd too 🥹 and literally planning to work til last week of August too! I work as a nanny so it can be quite intense 🤣

I think it depends how many kids you already have😂 I'm starting mat leave around 36 weeks so I can have a few weeks in peace when my other two are in nursery before the baby arrives😂

I’m taking annual leave mid-Sept to mid-Oct and then starting my actual mat leave basically on my due date xo
