To throw a totally different number out there, my work system has registered it as: start date of mat leave Tuesday 13th may 2025, end date Monday 11th may 2026. So I assume that means I return on the Tuesday 12th so it’s done tues-tues rather than the date if that makes sense
Maternity leave is calculated in full weeks so your last week would end on Monday.
Which means return to work on Tuesday
I’d say Tuesday 8th too
Work in HR. It would be 9 July 2025. However you accrue all your holidays you didn't take last year plus bank holidays and this year's holidays. At my company we would normally expect employees to take all accrued holiday and bank holidays from the year before, and usually a decent chunk of this year's holidays before actually starting back at work
I went off on the 8th March (I week of annual leave included). I'm not going back till the 7th April. My annual leave started 27th February. If I hadn't of taken a week of annual leave for next financial year work would expect me back 1st April.
It's 52 weeks, so you need to count and that will give you the exact date! My maternity leave started on the 30th of April 2024, it officially ends on the 28th of April 2025
My maternity started Monday 2nd sept 2024 I go back Monday 1st sept 2025
@Emma how so? It would mean 52 weeks and 1 day
@Katya if she started on the 9th July last year her mat leave would end 8th July this year and her first day back would be 9th July this year
@Emma that means it starts and ends on a Tuesday, so 1 extra day.. ?
@Katya this is how we always do it at work, based on the date in the calendar rather than the day of the week 🤷
@Emma even leap years?
@Katya I think so! Good question...

@Emma haha I think it may be different because what kind of company would just gift an extra day of leave 😅 mine certainly didn’t
I would go with Wednesday 9th should be your first day back as that’s exactly one year off
