Maternity leave!

How much time before your baby due date is everyone taking? Work are pushing for a date but I’m not entirely sure as I want to take as much time with baby after as possible, I’m thinking a week before?

I’m taking around 2 weeks :-)

I’m off from April 20th due May 27th

@Vinali ah same due date as me!!

Annual leave for 3 weeks and Mat leave 1 week before due date :)

I’m taking a month before due date, want to spend some quality time with my toddler while he’s an only child 🥰

I'm due 11th may, I'm going on maternity on 6th may, but I'm off from April 18th. I made sure to include the bank holidays as well in my holiday so I won't lose them😅😅. There's 3 days for bank holidays, 18th, 21 April and 5th may

I’m due 14 May and finishing 25 April but I’ve taken those two weeks as holiday so my actual maternity leave starts 12 May :)

Annual leave 2weeks and Mar leave a week before due date

I’m taking 3 weeks. My first was early and meant I had one day of mat leave before he came. NOT AGAIN

I wanted to wait until mid-May (due 29th) but realised I have to return to work by 30th April 2026 to qualify for gov childcare funding. So I'm now leaving on 30th April, then I'll use up all my accrued Annual leave next May/June to have a bit longer with baby, as funding can still be secured if on annual leave.

I’ve just realised I have 20 days of paid holiday leave so I’m probably going to finish beginning of May now, I’m due 27th May

I’m finishing on 22nd may and I’m due on 31st but only because my fiancé works in a school and he breaks up then for a week 😂

I'm taking 2 weeks annual leave before my due date and mat leave from my due date 😊

I'm due the 29th and maternity starts 19th so a week and half before. But I have 2 weeks holiday before then also

Due 21st and last working day is 9th May. I’ve used days of AL here and there to break my weeks up x

1wk annual leave then mat leave 1 week before due date. most of my 2025 annual leave being used in 2026 to allow me to come back later

Annual Leave 1week then 1week before due date.

I'm due 25th May and finishing 17th April. My first came at 37+4 so just want to be prepared and have a little time off in case second baby boy comes early too

Will use 10days from my leave with my off days and start mat leave on my due date which is 22rd of may.

Im taking two weeks, also have 2 weeks holiday before that

It kind of depends on what you do and how you're feeling? I'm a teacher so am on my feet a lot, busy and stressed! So I've taken 2 and half weeks off in advance so I have time to distress and put my feet up. Unless the baby comes early of course! 😅

From my due date but using 2 weeks holiday before that

4 weeks. My first came early so want more time to prepare as I work from home and want to get it back to our home environment before she arrives

Baby’s due 20th May, and my last day is 9th May, but that’s my annual leave for the rest of May with my Maternity Leave kicking in 1st June. My first one was 13 days overdue and I left way early, but of course weren’t to know he would be a lazy bum lol x

Due 21st may but finishing work 11th April so I can spend as much time with our one year old as possible before baby arrives! Also going to start Mat leave from end April to ensure we get the gov funding for baby’s free hours x

Due 3rd May, starting mat leave 1st May but finishing up 10th April using some annual leave. Wish I’d finished up sooner tbh!!

Due May 31st, finish work May 23rd. Depends on personal circumstances really. how you are feeling? Etc. Haven’t ever given birth before 40 weeks so we’ll see if that’s the same this time round.
