Honestly I didn't find the iud insertion that painful Honestly once you've given birth nothing really hurts that much anymore😂 yes it's definitely uncomfortable but the people I had do it were very nice and reassuring they took it slowly and check in with me the whole time. I have the hormonal coil because I already have heavy and painful periods, it has reduced my flow and they're pain free like 90% of the time. However only down side is that it has completely destroyed my sex drive I have no desire at all for it and sometimes I don't even fund my husband attractive in the way I use to. Like ik he is attractive but I'm not attracted to him if that makes sense and I absolutely hate that part and it makes things really difficult x

Insertion of the iud is excruciating. But the pain subsides once in and cramping for a few days. I have the copper IUD so have spotting. I’ve heard with the hormonal iud your period could go away.

@Willow You were lucky lol. I heard in the states you get nerve blockers for the insertion? My hurt so bad. But subsided once he was done.

I didn't have any pain at all with IUD insertion or even when I had it removed. Just light period-like cramping for maybe a week after insertion

I had read lots of horror stories but I didn’t find having it inserted painful at all

@Michele I'm in the UK the only pain relief we are allowed is being told to take 2 paracetamol an hour before the insertion x
