I got one last year when I flew. Easyjet didn't ask for it but british airways did.
I flew without one at 34 weeks as was unable to get hold of it wasn’t an issue with the airlines you just have to sign a paper saying if anything happening it’s not the airlines fault so if you can’t get hold of it wouldn’t worry too much x
You get get them privately online https://home2lab.co.uk/collections/medical-letters?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=cpc_google&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADCZwQVQfVeNTYgyU_Er2Sxn45oM7 https://www.zoomdoc.com/product/fit-to-fly-certificate-pregnancy?utm_medium=cpc&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADe6Gstm_b11MKxs6vzx93z3VPejv
I had exactly the same issue and was told by my GP that I’d need to see a private GP. It was around £160 for a consultation then £120 for the certificate. I wasn’t able to get insurance without one (a letter from a midwife, if they’ll write one, isn’t sufficient for insurers should you need to make a claim).
Thanks everyone - sounds like it's not just my area where this is the case!
My midwife at 25 week app said she will issue me one at my 28 week app for a holiday at 29 weeks, so you should be able to get the same way! Xxx
Hi lovely. Just a word of warning - check with your airline what date period the letter needs to be within because I got mine too early and nearly wasn't allowed to fly !! (Had to quickly get doctor to do another one while I was on holiday and email it through) X
I flew when I was 31 weeks pregnant , I used a website called “home2lab” to get mine. I had no issues. Make sure you check the date requirement for your airline, my fit2fly had to be done 14 days exactly before flying x

I just told the midwife team that I needed one and GPs don’t do it. My obstetrician then did them straight away and emailed them over. I always flew with one and was even challenged twice by British Airways and Qatar.
