Maternity leave

When is everyone starting their maternity leave? I’m 33 weeks today and was planning on working until 38 weeks but I really don’t think I’m going to be able to do it. I’m absolutely shattered and also have a toddler

I’m booked in for my c section at 39 weeks and I’m working as a traffic warden until 37 weeks.

The day before my due date 😅

Annual leave at 34 weeks and officially start maternity leave at 36 weeks. I'm already struggling 😭

Hi. I’m in the similar situation as you I have a 14 month old and I’m 33 weeks today as well. I’m working until 24th March and then using annual leave till 13th April and my Maternity leave starts on my due date which is 14th April, which means I’m working up until I’m 37 weeks. I wanted to work longer but as I gave birth early last time I took an extra week/week and a half off longer before my due date.

My due date is 15th April and I was going to start mine 2nd April as working from home so not too bad. But they've said if I've not had her before then theyll have me in at 39 weeks to be induced so that means 8th April. I can't only give myself 6 days inbetween finishing work and going into hospital, I'll want to get loads done lol so I'm going to have to move my date forward I think to last week of March. X

I’m 34 weeks today. Starting annual leave at 36 weeks then maternity leave starts 39 weeks (the week of my section) 😊

Annual leave from 34, maternity from 38ish. First baby arrived at 36+6 the day after I finished work so don't want to work that late just in case. 🙃

I used the rest of my annual leave at 32 weeks but maternity official starts today (at 34 weeks). I work in hospitality and I don’t think I could have managed being on my feet all day for much longer 😂

With my first I worked up until 2 days before my planned section at 38+6 🫣 This time I’m finishing about 36 weeks! Struggling now, never mind in a few more weeks x

My initial plan was to work up right until my due date but changed my mind! I’m self employed so I’m lucky I get some flexibility and can choose when to have my maternity leave.. I’ve decided this will be my last week & will be 35 weeks when I finish for maternity leave. I’d say listen to your body & honour what you need right now.. it’s important to have some time for you after finishing work and before baby arrives x

I’m 33 weeks today…working part time this week and next then starting may leave from 10th March as I am due to be induced around 37-38 weeks so wanted some time to relax before baby is here as it’s my first x

Today was supposed to be my last day before having some annual leave then starting my maternity leave but I was signed off last week because of my PGP and the pain x

@Ceri I’m 32 weeks tomorrow and I’m self employed too and unfortunately working up until I’m 39 weeks essentially (providing nothing happens sooner) but I’m getting achey and agitated and just so tired now I don’t know how I’m going to make it up until that far. But I need the money from work to help give me a little longer off😭it’s so hard, I want to listen to my body but really need the money x

I’m taking annual leave from 36 weeks and maternity starting from 37 weeks x

I had planned to start it at 36 weeks, but I'm 31 weeks now and signed off with back pain. I'm due back in next week but realistically I don't think I'll make it to 36 weeks 😫 everything hurts!

I’m finishing on the 9th, I’ll be 35 weeks. I then have 3 weeks annual leave and my official mat leave starts first week of April! I’m due my section week after. I work with Sen kids in a residential home so it’s not been easy x

I’m finishing at 36 weeks and taking 2 weeks annual leave, then starting MAT leave at 38 weeks. I’ve decided if it gets too much I’ll take sick leave tbh

I also have a toddler (partner works a mix of shifts) and I've booked my last day at work on the Friday before I'm due, so 39+3! I currently find work easier than a full day at home with a toddler on my own! I did go back on a flexible contract of 4 days a week, though!

Same, I’m 33 weeks and going off at 38 weeks but unlike you, I don’t have a toddler and WFH, plus my symptoms aren’t bad at all. Can you go off earlier or use annual leave to bridge the gap?
